2025 Annual General Meeting

You are invited to our 2025 Annual General Meeting to be held on

Saturday April 26, 2025 at 10:30 am in Tocqueville church.

We will report on the Association’s activities and financial results for 2024. In accordance with our Articles of Association, four of the twelve members of the Board of Directors will be up for re-election.

It will also be an opportunity to talk about all the restoration work carried out on the church over the last 15 years by the Commune de Tocqueville, with the active support of our Association, and in particular the major program to combat damp in the walls and floor, which was completed in October 2024. This latest program, like the previous ones, was the subject of an agreement between the Commune, the Association and the Fondation du Patrimoine, for the collection of donations, which is now closed.

However, there is still work to be done, and the schedule is currently under review. We’ll be sure to keep you informed of any decisions taken, including the establishment, with the Fondation du Patrimoine, of a new agreement enabling donations to be tax-exempt.

In any case, our Association will continue to operate, if only to enable our volunteers to carry out many tasks that do not require the intervention of contractors.

The annual subscription remains at €5. The 2025 membership form also allows you to make a donation directly our Association.

We appreciate your interest in preserving our heritage and thank you in advance for your participation and help.

Summer events

Summer is back, and with it two traditional events organized by our Association, always with the aim of raising funds to help the commune finance the restoration work on the church:

– The Book Fair (15th edition) on July 12, 13 and 14 from 10am to 6pm at the Tocqueville multi-purpose hall. Over 7,000 books on sale, starting at 25 cents. Free admission.

– The discovery walk “in the footsteps of Alexis de Tocqueville” on Saturday July 27. Meet at 2pm for a 7km walk around Tocqueville. Departure from the château alley, where parking is available. The walk ends with a snack. Participation €5 per person, free for children under 12. Walking shoes recommended.

The tour includes anecdotes about the life of the village and that of its illustrious inhabitant.
